A Brief Review of the History of “Hozeh Honari” and its Performance
From the very first months after the settlement of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1978 it was very clear the need for a new artistic and cultural institution based on Islamic and revolutionary principles. The necessity was felt among the Iranian artists and revolutionary thinkers to the extent that the formation of “HozehHonari” or roughly translated in English as “The Arts Club” was an inevitableconstructive reaction to the essential cultural and artistic needs of the new revolutionary society of Iran.
In the beginning, the very limited number of young artists and members of “HozehHonari” started their accomplishments in the fields of cinema, graphics, painting, music and photography. Then gradually and by the constant deepening and stabilization of the Islamic culture and emergence of various applications of novel revolutionary requests the domain of “HozehHonari” activities revealed manifestation of Islamic educations in different layers of the Iranian post revolution society.
In the first very years of the 1980 decade “HozehHonari” joined the“Islamic Development Organization” or as we pronounce it in Farsi “Sazman-e- Tablighat-e- Islami” and since then it has acted as one of the most important artistic and cultural institutions in Islamic Iran casting its role as a major agent in creation of artistic and cultural productions in line of the demands of Islamic revolution.
Presently, “HozeHonari” a name that is very well-known among Iranians and foreigners, is considered to be one the most active cultural and artistic centers in Iran perusing multi-lateral goals in line of Islam, theIslamic revolution and supporting a huge number and vast variety of both acclaimed and young Iranian artists toward their creative productions.
“HojatUl-Islam Zam” took the responsibility of being the head of this organization from the very start of its work in 1979 a responsibility which was well delivered up to the year 2001. Dr. “Hassan Bonyanian” was the second head of “HozehHonari” succeeded “Zam” untill 2010 and since then “Mohsen Momeni Sharif” has agreed to be in charge of leading the organization toward its various goals and duties.
The “HozehHonari” organization consists of the following centers and offices:

6.The office of satire literature
7.The center for research and study of resistance culture and literature
8.The house of Iranian photographers
9.The animation center
10.The “Surah” publications
